Tours We Recommend in Italy

May 2, 2025

There’s more than one way to see a city! You can spend you’re day walking around, soaking up the atmosphere, and doing exactly what you choose to do. You can spend every minute trying to pack as much sightseeing into each day as you possibly can. However, we have recommendations for activities and tours that will fill your days without making you feel tired and rundown.

It’s the best of both worlds – sightseeing and soaking up the experiences around you!

The Colosseum

The Colosseum is one of the world’s oldest and most recognizable structures. The tour doesn’t just include the Colosseum. The Forum surrounding the building has almost as much history. You could walk around for hours thinking about the life that once occupied the streets. Shopping, churches, and markets used to surround this massive amphitheater.

The tour takes you inside the Colosseum to see where the Roman emperor once sat, explains who was allowed to sit in which level, and how the games or shows were performed. The arena hosted gladiator fights, boat fights, and animal hunts – to name a few.

The Vatican

While you’re in Italy, you can make a detour to visit the smallest country in the world! Vatican City is not actually part of Italy. It is governed by a monarchy that is headed by the Pope. The best part? It’s one of the only countries where you won’t even need a Visa.

Completed in 1626, the present St. Peter’s Basilica took 120 years to finish. The famous Sistine Chapel was painted from 1508 – 1512. Experience endless rooms of statues, painting, woven tapestries, and more. The Vatican is truly a memorial to Renaissance Art. We absolutely recommend booking your tour as the Vatican sees 35,000 visitors in a single day. Lines can be long without a tour time!

Pizza Making Class

Want to do something a little less on the tourist side? There’s nothing more perfect than learning to make pizza in Italy! Farms and families host tours out of their homes. You can learn about the more rural aspects of Italy while spending time in a small group! Indulge in pizza, meats, cheeses, limoncello, and panna cotta. Return to your hotel with a full heart and a full stomach.

Could there be anything better than that? Maybe the part about getting to eat what you make!

Food and Wine Tours

Sometimes all the restaurants and wineries can be overwhelming. You fear missing out on great experiences by choosing the wrong location. What if you could sample around the city? We would suggest a food and wine tour! Explore the city around you by tasting and drinking your way through it. One amazing way to experience a culture is through their food. Your guide explains the history of your food and wine while you taste the flavors for yourself!

Coastal Tour

Everyone wants to stay in metro areas so there are endless options of things to do. While staying in the metros is an amazing way to be in the thick of the city around you, plan a day to go see the coasts of Italy. Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano show a different way of life and a whole new kind of sights to see.

Eat the regions food, see the different architecture, and immerse yourself into a different way of Italian life. We recommend a tour because the roads are narrow, busy, and winding!

Let our agents help you plan your dream vacation! We would be over the moon to plan your tours so that you never miss out on what Italy has to offer you. The history, the food, and the way of life is something you should be able to experience fully.
